To keep our clan running smoothly and as fair as possible, we have set the following rules for your benefit:
I. No cheating in any form, this includes cheat codes, or altering the victory screen in any way.*
II. No offensive language, profanity or criticizing fellow clan members.
III. No sending infected files or puds. Any puds you wish to submit for clan use should be sent to the clan members for an informal vote. Not all of our clan members have the expansion set, Beyond the Dark Portal, so puds should not contain any of the expansion elements.*
IV. Network latency is to be set to 4. This is done by holding down option key at game startup. A window will come up. Go to expert, there you will see the network latency menu. This needs only be done once. Check the box that says "Don't ask again." Also, if the game runs slowly, check no pallete and more compatible drawing. Those with the greatest connection speed should host. You should also make sure your version of the game is the latest. Click here, to visit the Blizzard tech support site to see if you can use one of their upgrade patches.
V. Going AWL is strictly prohibited. Notify one of the clan leaders in advance.¥
VI. No changing teams under normal circumstances (see below). Æ
VII. All game settings must be of consensus in the group of players at the time.
VIII. Participation! You must play at least 3 times every 2 weeks. ¥
IX. Trying to abolish or overthrow the clan is strictly prohibited.*
X. Your full attention must be focused on the game, no checking e-mail, and IMs are to be turned off. A quick way to do this is by sending an IM to $im_off. The body of the message is not important, put a little smiley face in if you would like :). If done correctly, you will get a message saying you are now ignoring IM's. To turn them back on, send message to $im_on. Those who dial up with a seperate ISP should sign off AOL before the game starts. In short, lag is bad (see rule 4) Note: e-mail is NOT to be blocked.*
XI. You must show up to scheduled games (if possible).¥
XII. At the victory screen, press Command + Shift + 3. This takes a snapshot of the screen (you should hear a camera sound), including your score. The picture will be stored in your hard drive window, as Picture 1. Of course if you take more than one pic, they will be saved as Picture 2, Picture 3, etc... Submit these pictures to OnyxEdge. The picture title should include your playing name, and the date on which the game was played. Example: OnyxEdge 6/1. Not all of our clan members have AOL 4.0. For this reason, score pics, as well as all other files, are to be ATTACHED, not sent in the body of the e-mail message. The subject of the e-mail should be "Score Pic."
XIII. The USS is no longer in usage. Our new system is based on Winning Percentage. There is also a new 2:1 ratio, Competitive to Cooperative. In other words, for every two (2) games you play Competitive (head to head, free for all, or human vs. human teams), you are allowed to play one (1) game Cooperative (allied against the computer.)
XIV. Higher positions in the Clan are based upon what you contribute to it.
XV. Games will not be counted if they do not have at least 2 human players, if they are not played on a Clan approved PUD, if they involve non-clan members, or if you have exceeded the 2:1 ratio of Competitive Vs. Cooperative.
XVI. Surrendering is acceptable, but players are encouraged to use this as a last resort, once you have no available resources.
XVII. Clan Members of The Celestial Knights of Azeroth are not authorized nor are they allowed to send mail, related directly or indirectly to The Celestial Knights of Az members is the sole property of OnyxEdge and Paladin21, for privacy reasons. If you want to send something to members, submit it to a leader. If acceptable, it will be included in the next Azeroth Daily. Games you wish to schedule are the only exception, they can be mailed to us to be included in the AD, or directly to the clan members.
XVIII. Member rankings are based firstly on Winning Percentage and ultimately determined by leaders of The Celestial Knights of Azeroth. Rankings are subject to change without notice and at will. For instance, those who end game before it is completed without the other players permission will most likely end up with a loss... If you are abandoned by your partner (s) and lose, it will most likely NOT be counted... Those who repeatedly play against players they know are weaker will no longer have those scores counted...
XIX. Members are required to check this page often and be familiar with all rules posted.
* Breaking of these rules will result in immediate dismemberment.
¥ You must have a valid excuse or face dismemberment.
Æ This rule may be broken if (a) A player must leave, (b) a player lags out or loses connection or (c) someone else cheats.
